My 2012 Israel Vacation

Hi everybody! It's me again with another random blog. Today I will be talking about the first time that I went to Israel for a vacation. It was in 2012 and my family and I decided to go to Israel and take a tour for 2 weeks. It was my first time going there and I didn't know what to expect. We eat kosher and we're Jewish so it was even better because they had a lot of kosher food. The plane ride was about 18 hours and when we got there it took about a day to get adjusted with the time since it's 10 hours ahead of California. We went on a tour with 15 other Jewish Persian people and we became family friends with them all. The best thing about Israel is that all of their jewelry and clothing are way less expensive than the U.S. We took advantage of that and we bought so many souvenirs like jewelry, clothes, shoes, purses, and a lot more. The thing that my family and I enjoyed the most was all the food. We enjoyed it because we didn't have to worry about the meat being kosher. Israel has a lot more kosher restaurants than Los Angeles. I learned new things and explored a lot because Israel is very different from America. The thing we went there the most for was to celebrate my brothers Bar Mitzvah there. He was 15 years old but ever since he was little my mom wanted to do a little celebration there too. We went to the holy wall and celebrated a little for that event. I'm glad we went because we had a break from the real world, we explored, and met a lot of new people. The only thing that sucked about it was that we had to come back and we would be very jet lagged. It took about a week to get used to our own time and I missed Israel a lot. I knew that if I didn't go back home I would be really home sick and miss my friends.

xoxo, debs

  1. This was a really good blog Debbie, I can totally relate. When I went to Israel the plane ride was sooooo long and boring. I went for my family, and didn't take a tour, but it was still a lot of fun. I live Israel so much!! The jet lag is so annoying, I was awake at 5 am! Family would come over to see us, but I would be so tired I would go to sleep.
